Dr. David Kester
Plastic Sugery
Dr David Kester is a graduate of the University of British Columbia school of medicine {1968}. He completed his fellowship in plastic surgery in 1976, after training at the Vancouver General Hospital and UBC plastic surgery training program. Postgraduate training in Los Angeles and the University of Louisville was completed as a Hand surgery fellow.
Dr Kester is a certified Plastic Surgeon. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and has a Master of Science [surgery] from UBC.He has had extensive experince with facial, burn and hand trauma. His areas of interest and expertise are hand ,reconstructive facial, and increasingly, cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and abdomen.
Dr Kester has been an examiner in Plastic Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He is a founding member of the Group for the Advancement of Microsurgery. He is on the executive of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgery, and is a past president of the Canadian Society of Hand Surgery. He is currently the president of the Educational Foundation of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgery and on the excutive board of the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Surgery[cosmetic].
Dr Kester has practised on the active staff of the Vancouver General and UBC hospitals since 1977. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Britiish Columbia. Private surgeries are performed at Cambie Surgery Center in Vancouver.
